Mid-Autumn Lantern Craft Competition

1.    This Contest, organised by Cheras LeisureMall (“Organiser”) is open to participants aged 7-18. There are two categories: 
•    Category A for participants aged 13-18, and 
•    Category B for participants aged 7-12. Participants in Category B may be accompanied by their parent/guardian or participate in pair during the Contest.
2.    The competition duration for each category is FOUR (4) hours in total, which includes a 30-minute learning session on assembling the frame, adding paper or cloth, and installing the LED light.
3.    Interested participants may register and submit an entry for the Contest from today until 22 August 2025 via the google form (https://forms.gle/3KGZsfSb8bk32Wri9). All participants are required to bring their own art materials (i.e. scissors, paper cutter, multi-coloured cellophane papers, colour paper, lantern cloth or other suitable fabrics, glue, old newspaper or cutting mat, stationery and colouring materials) on the Contest day.   
4.    The lantern artwork must feature the Mid-Autumn Festival theme. All drawing, colouring, cutting, decorating and pasting must be carried out and completed during the Contest day. Pre-made decorative items are not allowed.
5.    The Organizer will provide each participant with lantern frame to create their lantern on the Contest day:
•    Category A: Bamboo strips for making a lantern measuring 50 cm (H) × 30 cm (W)
•    Category B: Wire frame for making a lantern with an approximately 42 cm diameter 
6.    Participants are encouraged to use LED lights in their lanterns. All bulbs must not exceed 20 watts each. 
7.    Judging will be based on Craftsmanship (40%), Creativity (15%), Colour Combination (15%), Lighting Effect (15%), and Overall Presentation (15%). Scores will be deducted if the artwork includes readymade items. 
8.    In the Category B (Parent & Child), scores will be deducted if the parent/guardian completes a substantial portion of the work. Entries where the parent/guardian is found to have done the majority of the work will be disqualified. 
9.    The winners of each category will receive the following prizes: 
       a.    Top 5 Winners: Cheras LeisureMall Cash Vouchers worth RM500.00 + Trophy + Certificate
       b.    5 Excellence Award: Cheras LeisureMall Cash Vouchers worth RM300.00 + Trophy + Certificate
       c.    10 Consolation Prizes: Cheras LeisureMall Cash Vouchers worth RM200.00 + Medal + Certificate
       d.    Participation Award: Medal + Certificate
10.    The judges’ decision is final and no further requests, claims or correspondence whatsoever will be entertained.
11.    Participants hereby agree to allow the Organiser to display the lantern at Cheras LeisureMall after submission. 
12.    The Organiser reserves the sole and absolute discretion to reject and disqualify any Lantern deemed unsuitable for display, offensive in nature or which are not compliant with the Terms & Conditions of the Contest. 
13.    The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify winners found to be in breach of the Terms & Conditions stated herein.
14.    Each winner is entitled to one prize only. All prizes are not exchangeable for cash.
15.    Winners announcement and prize presentation will be held on 24 August 2025 (Sunday), 8:30PM at Level 2 Concourse, Cheras LeisureMall.
16.    The Organiser will not be held responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever and howsoever caused to the Lantern after the Lantern have been submitted to the Organiser and no claims whatsoever can be made against the Organiser in such an event. Lanterns which have been submitted to the Organiser for the Contest can be collected from 12 October 2025 onwards at the Information Counter (WhatsApp +60 159 224 7193 for lantern collection arrangement). If the lanterns are not collected by 2 November 2025, the Organiser reserves the right to dispose of or otherwise deal with the lanterns at its sole discretion without any further notice or liability to the participants.
17.    The Organiser will not be responsible for any accident, mishap, death, damage or injuries occurring during the Contest or in connection with the Contest in any manner whatsoever. No claims of any kind can be made against the Organiser. Participants agree to be bound by the Terms & Conditions and final decision of the Organiser.
18.    The Organiser retains all rights to publish and use the names, personal details, photographs and/or video recordings of the participants including all materials submitted during the Contest for the purposes of advertising and/or trade publicity for promotions, without any prior notice to the participants and/or their parents/guardians who by submitting their entries to the Contest hereby consent or for parents/guardians, have consented on behalf of the participants, to such use by the Organiser. All participants and/or their parents/guardians on behalf of the participants shall not be entitled to claim ownership or other forms of claims or compensation whatsoever on any of the materials submitted to enter the Contest. By submitting an entry to the Contest, each participant and/or their parents/guardians hereby consent to continue receiving promotional materials and information from PPB Group Berhad.
19.    The Organiser reserves the right at its sole and absolute discretion to amend the terms and conditions mentioned above or in connection with the Contest at any time without prior notice. 
20.    The Organiser reserves the right at its sole and absolute discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest at any time without prior notice.
21.    The Organiser’s decision on any and all matters in respect of the Contest is final and conclusive and no further, challenges, objections, requests, claims or correspondence whatsoever will be entertained.
22.    Upon submitting an entry to the Contest, the participant and/or their parent/guardian on behalf of the participant is deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions of this Contest and the participant acknowledges that he/she has read and understood PPB Group Berhad's Privacy Policy and Personal Data Notice which can be found on website (https://www.ppbgroup.com/governance-sustainability/personal-data-protection/notice)  and consents to the usage, collecting, recording and processing of his/her personal data for the purposes stated in such notice and in connection herein.
